On Monday morning, Juventus was the talk of Italy’s newspapers after their amazing comeback against Roma on Sunday night heaped further misery on Jose Mourinho, who is already under siege.

In the second half of their Serie A match, Roma led Juve 3-1 before Manuel Locatelli, Dejan Kulusevski, and Mattia De Sciglio scored three goals in the space of seven minutes to turn the game around. Matthijs De Ligt was sent off in the 81st minute after Tammy Abraham, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Lorenzo Pellegrini scored for Roma, but Juve held on for a thrilling away victory.

On Monday, the front page of Il Romanista, a newspaper dedicated to following Roma, featured an image of their players appearing surprised at the final whistle, with the headline “the nightmare.”

Massimiliano Allegri’s players are expected to make a comeback, according to the other major Italian newspapers. The result has been dubbed ‘pleasure and pain’ by La Gazzetta dello Sport, who are concerned about Juve forward Fedrico Chiesa, who was forced off with an ankle injury just 24 minutes into the game.

Meanwhile, Corriere dello Sport hails Juventus’ ‘amazing blitz’ after scoring three goals in seven minutes, alongside a photo of Mourinho looking enraged.

‘The Special One couldn’t find solutions as Roma imploded in the final minutes of the game,’ according to the tabloid, which also awarded Mourinho a 4.5 match rating.
