Real Thrash Valencia To Go 8 Points Clear At Top Of La Liga

Real Madrid increased their lead at the top of La Liga to eight points with a comfortable victory over Valencia at home.

After Casemiro was fouled soon before half-time, Carlo Ancelotti’s team gradually grabbed control of the game and took the lead with a Karim Benzema penalty.

Valencia were enraged at the decision and faded badly in the second half, allowing Vinicius Junior to score two easy goals.

Valencia’s Goncalo Guedes had a penalty saved but headed in the rebound, before Benzema struck again.

With 301 goals for Real, the French striker is only behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul, and Alfredo Di Stéfano on the club’s all-time scoring list.
