After Pep Lijnders tested positive for Covid-19, Liverpool’s plans for the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal have been further thrown into confusion.
Due to Jurgen Klopp’s isolation, Lijnders would have been in charge of the game at the Emirates Stadium. He found out the results of his latest test late Tuesday night.
The Dutchman was supposed to hold a press conference on Wednesday at midday, but it has been canceled because no one else has been named to speak before of the game at the Emirates Stadium.
With the manager and his assistant now isolating, it raises further questions on whether the game will be able to be staged. If it does go ahead, there are no indications at this stage who might be asked to step up to fill in for Klopp and Lijnders.
