Tottenham advanced to the Carabao Cup semi-finals after beating West Ham in a dramatic quarter-final clash.
After 29 minutes, the hosts took the lead when Steven Bergwijn combined with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and scored his first goal of the season.
But Tottenham’s advantage lasted only three minutes, as a bad clearing allowed Nikola Vlasic to shoot and the ball to fall to Jarrod Bowen, who scored smartly after a fantastic spin to create space.
Spurs, on the other hand, retook the lead – and eventually won the game – just two minutes later, with Lucas Moura scoring from Bergwijn’s pull-back.
In the third minute of injury time, West Ham almost forced penalties, but substitute Andriy Yarmolenko’s looping shot struck the crossbar.
Tottenham will face Chelsea in the two-legged semi-finals in January, after Thomas Tuchel’s team defeated Brentford 2-0 in the quarter-finals.
