Spurs Had Liverpool Share Thrilling Draw As Robertson Sent Off

Liverpool dropped points in the Premier League title race after a tense 0-0 draw against Tottenham, which saw Andrew Robertson sent red for the visitors.

Liverpool were unable to win the Premier League at Christmas for the first time in four years when Manchester City defeated Newcastle 4-0 earlier in the day, leaving Jurgen Klopp’s side three points behind.

Harry Kane scored his first Premier League goal after receiving a feed from Tanguy Ndombele, but Spurs squandered several chances to extend their lead. On 35 minutes, Diogo Jota punished the hosts by heading home a cross from Robertson, who had wasted a glorious opportunity of his own in the first 70 seconds.

In an open and furious encounter, Robertson headed the Reds in lead in the second half, only for Son Heung-min to level four minutes later after a mistake by Alisson.

Left-back for Liverpool After Paul Tierney reviewed the judgement on the pitch-side monitor, Robertson was sent out for a reckless hack on Emerson Royal.

Antonio Conte’s unblemished league start at Tottenham now stands at five games, however his team remains in seventh place with games in hand on those ahead of them.
