Spurs Reclaim Third In WSL With Everton Win

With a hard-fought victory over Everton at the Hive, Tottenham moved back into third place in the Women’s Super League.

Spurs moved within a point of second-placed Chelsea thanks to Jessica Naz’s fantastic effort into the top-right corner.

After Manchester United’s 5-0 triumph against Aston Villa earlier on Sunday, Rehanne Skinner’s team had slid to fourth.

Everton’s Anna Anvegard hit the post late on, with England midfielder Izzy Christiansen limping out. Spurs have now won their first league match against the Blues.

The team of Jean-Luc Vasseur was hoping to extend their three-game unbeaten streak in the league.

Apart from Sweden’s bustling run and shot, their only other notable chance came in the first half, when Grace Clinton forced home goalkeeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela into a fantastic save.
