Salah: Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah Is Closing Up On A Premier League Record

“He’s incredible. He is, without a doubt, the best player in the world right now.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may be prejudiced, but he has been witness to forward Mohamed Salah’s remarkable form – and the Egypt international might set yet another record very soon.

Salah will equal Jamie Vardy’s record of scoring or creating a goal in 15 consecutive Premier League appearances if he scores or assists in Thursday’s home game against 19th-placed Newcastle, a team he has never failed to score against at Anfield.

In October, he became the first Liverpool player to score in nine consecutive games, and his hat-trick against Manchester United the following match became him the Premier League’s highest-scoring African player, surpassing Didier Drogba’s 104 goals.

These achievements can be added to a long list of historical ones in the red of Liverpool.

To name a few achievements, his 32 goals in the 2017-18 Premier League season remain the most in a 38-game Premier League season, he is Liverpool’s all-time Champions League leading goalscorer (33) and he became the Premier League’s fastest foreign player to reach 100 goal involvements, to name a few.

Salah’s goal involvement statistics for 2021 are outstanding. He had scored eight more Premier League goals (23) than the next man on the list, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, as of December 15th (15).
