Mohamed Salah: Without Messi And Ronaldo, Liverpool’s Attacker Is The ‘Best In The Business’

Although Mohamed Salah’s contract situation is unclear, his standing as an all-time Liverpool great is undeniable.

Salah has been in incredible form this season, with his goal against AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday bringing his total to 20 goals in all competitions – and it’s only December 7th.

Only Ian Rush (7 November) and Roger Hunt (25 November), both Reds legends, have reached the milestone faster than Salah, who has also contributed nine assists.

Despite his lackluster performance at the San Siro, the former Fiorentina and Roma midfielder received a standing ovation from the home crowd when he exited the field shortly after the hour mark.

“How would we think of Mohamed Salah right now if we weren’t living in the era of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo?” Pat Nevin of BBC Radio 5 Live wondered. “We consider him to be the greatest in the business.”

Neil Lennon, the former Celtic manager, said: “Mohamed Salah ranks among the best players I’ve seen in recent years. He’s the closest player to Lionel Messi that I’ve seen.”
