Pep Guardiola believes Kyle Walker will learn from his red card in Manchester City’s Champions League loss to RB Leipzig, which “hurts” his team.
Before a 2-1 setback in Germany, City had already secured top spot in Group A.
However, with eight minutes remaining, England defender Walker was sent out for hacking out at Leipzig attacker Andre Silva, and will now serve a suspension.
“Kyle Walker is an important player for us and it is unnecessary to lose him like this,” said Guardiola afterwards.
“I hope he learns from this. The red card hurts us, especially for the round of 16.
“It’s a red card, definitely. I’m not coming here to say what happened in the dressing room.”
