After Borussia Dortmund’s 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich, the German Football Association is examining England midfielder Jude Bellingham’s statements criticizing referee Felix Zwayer.
Bellingham, 18, questioned Zwayer’s hiring, citing the six-month suspension he received in 2005 for a match-fixing scandal.
Dortmund’s claims for a penalty were turned down by Zwayer, who instead awarded a penalty kick to their opponents for a Mats Hummels handball.
Bayern Munich won thanks to a penalty kick by Robert Lewandowski.
In an interview with Viaplay, Bellingham said: “You assign the biggest game in Germany to a referee who has previously rigged matches. So, what are your expectations?”
Bayern Munich moved four points clear of Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga after winning Der Klassiker on Saturday.
“It wasn’t a penalty for me. He [Hummels] isn’t even looking at the ball as he fights for it, and it lands on him “Bellingham added.
