Liverpool replacement Divock Origi scored a last-minute winner to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, continuing the Reds’ excellent Premier League run.
Origi latched on to a Mohamed Salah pass with seconds remaining, blasting the ball past Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.
His goal elicited wild celebrations from the visiting players, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp sprinting to the center circle after the final whistle to hug the striker.
Klopp later told BBC Radio 5 Live that Origi “was a legend” and that he hoped “people will write books about him,” confirming the Belgian’s cult hero status at Anfield.
Liverpool momentarily took the lead after beating West Ham 3-2 in Saturday’s early kick-off, but they dropped back to second as Manchester City beat Watford 3-1.
Wolves suffered a bitter defeat after defending valiantly for 94 minutes and coming within 60 seconds of becoming the first team to prevent Liverpool from scoring this season.
