Musuaku Scores Bizarre Goal Winner As West Ham Beat Leaders Chelsea

When Arthur Masuaku’s misjudged late cross beat Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to give West Ham a thrilling victory over the Premier League leaders at London Stadium, he stated he was as astonished as everyone else.

Masuaku’s attempted pass caught Mendy off guard and soared in at the near post to ignite ecstatic scenes among Hammers supporters after he collected the ball wide on the left with three minutes remaining.

West Ham’s status in the top four was solidified with the win, and they now have victories over Chelsea and Liverpool, two of the three clubs above them this season.

“So, was it a cross or was it shot?” Masuaku said on Twitter. “(Hint: I was as surprised as you).” “I said to him I thought it was a great cross,” West Ham manager David Moyes joked of the defender’s first Premier League goal.

“It was very fortunate but in football you need a bit of fortune sometimes. In the last few games we have lost it a little bit, but today we got it back.”
