And that’s further bad news for Everton manager Rafa Benitez, who has revealed his Goodison plans have been thwarted by the centre forward’s three-month injured absence.
Calvert-Lewin is under contract until 2025, and Benitez has already suggested he will fight tooth and nail to keep his important players at the club.
But he also admitted in recent days that rival clubs – including Liverpool – have achieved success by selling to raise funds at the right time and Everton must follow suit.
