ManU Will Turn To Ajax boss Erik If They Cannot Seal A Deal To Bring Pochettino To Old Trafford

If Mauricio Pochettino, Manchester United’s first choice, does not become the club’s next manager next summer, Erik ten Hag is the club’s backup plan.

Pochettino is the favorite to succeed interim manager Ralf Rangnick in June, assuming the Argentine can agree to terminate his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

The two clubs have a good relationship, and Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar, a former United goalkeeper, was instrumental in Donny van de Beek’s £40 million transfer to Old Trafford.

Ten Hag is regarded as one of Europe’s most forward-thinking coaches, and he was approached by Tottenham to replace Jose Mourinho before extending his contract with Ajax in April.

Rangnick, 63, is expected to be confirmed as United’s manager until the end of the season, after which he will hand over to a permanent successor and work as a consultant.
