Gareth Southgate has signed a new contract that will keep him in charge of England until December 2024.

Southgate has been the England manager since November 2016, when his previous contract was slated to expire after the 2022 Winter World Cup in Qatar. In July, he led England to the Euro 2020 final, their finest men’s performance in 55 years.

“It remains an incredible privilege to lead this team. We have a great opportunity in front of us,” he said.

Southgate will be in charge of England’s advancement in next year’s World Cup, which will take place from November 21 to December 18, as well as the qualification stages for Euro 2024, which will take place from June 14 to July 14.

Steve Holland, the assistant manager, has also signed a new contract that runs until the end of 2024.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the players and support team for their hard work,” Southgate said. “I know they and the fans are all excited about what this squad could achieve in future.”
