Raheem Sterling ‘Tells Man City He Wants To Leave The Club In January And Join Cash-Strapped Barcelona’
After sliding down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order, Raheem Sterling is said to have urged Manchester City to sanction a January transfer to Barcelona.
Sterling, who has 18 months left on his City deal, shone during England’s Euro 2020 campaign but has battled to establish himself in Guardiola’s starting XI since then.
And the 26-year-old striker is thought to think the chance to play regular LaLiga games is too good to pass up.
Xavi, the Barcelona manager, is claimed to be a “huge fan” of Sterling and has expressed his desire to sign him.
Guardiola is apparently eager to loan Sterling out this winter, but the Catalan giants are now unable to pay his £300,000-a-week wages due to LaLiga’s financial constraints.
