Burnley And Palace Draw Back-And-Forth Spectacle

Burnley came from behind twice to draw with Crystal Palace in a six-goal thriller at Turf Moor thanks to Maxwel Cornet’s remarkable equaliser.

Palace took an early lead thanks to a deflected effort from Christian Benteke, but Burnley responded with headers from Ben Mee and Chris Wood. Benteke’s second goal and Marc Guehi’s first goal for the club helped the Eagles reclaim the lead at halftime.

Cornet, on the other hand, earned a point for the Clarets four minutes after the restart with a spectacular left-footed volley, his fourth in as many league games.

At the death, Matej Vydra had a fantastic opportunity to win it for Burnley, but Vicente Guaita turned the substitute’s shot around the post.

While a point does not bring Burnley out of the relegation zone and above Leeds, who play on Sunday, it does extend their undefeated run to four games ahead of Tottenham’s visit on November 28.

In the meantime, Palace’s unbeaten run has now reached seven games, with five of those games ending in draws, and they currently rank ninth in Patrick Vieira’s first season in command.
