Dean Smith’s appointment as Norwich City’s next manager has been confirmed. After a weekend of negotiations, the Premier League’s bottom team secured a deal with Smith, and he has set his eyes on avoiding relegation.
On November 6, Norwich fired Daniel Farke, and Aston Villa fired Smith the next day. Norwich have struggled since winning promotion last season, and Smith has been offered a two-and-a-half-year deal, along with his assistant Craig Shakespeare.
“It has been a whirlwind seven days but I’m really pleased to be back and working for Norwich City in the Premier League,” Smith said. “Clearly, there has been some wonderful work that has gone into this football club over the last four and a half years. It is now the job of myself and Craig to continue and improve on that work with the ultimate aim of surviving in the Premier League.
