Gareth Bale Calms Injury Fears After 100th Cap For Wales Ends At Half-Time

Gareth Bale threw out any injury concerns in his 100th outing for Wales, which ended just 45 minutes in a 5-1 World Cup qualifying victory against Belarus. Wales thrashed Belarus in Cardiff, moving above the Czech Republic into second place, with to goals from Neco Williams, Ben Davies, and Connor Roberts, as well as an Aaron Ramsey brace.

Wales has already qualified for the World Cup play-offs thanks to their Nations League performance last year. If they win their final qualifier against Belgium on Tuesday, they will have home advantage in the play-off semi-finals in March.

Despite his historic performance being cut short, Bale remained confident in his ability to line up against Belgium, who won top spot by defeating Estonia 3-1 on Saturday.

The Real Madrid striker was making his first appearance since suffering a hamstring injury on September 8.

“It was always the plan to play 45,” Bale told Sky Sports after becoming the second Welshman to win 100 caps.
