Flick Make History As Germany Hit 9 Past Liechtenstein

With his Covid-affected side defeating 10-man Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier, Hansi Flick became the first German coach to win his first six games in command.

With five players sidelined due to defender Niklas Sule’s Covid illness, Flick had to make a lot of adjustments.

The hosts, who have already qualified for Qatar 2022, got two goals from Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane. Within the first ten minutes, Liechtenstein was reduced to ten men.

Jens Hofer was sent off for kicking Leon Goretzka in the face with a high challenge, and Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan converted the resultant penalty after a short delay.

The visitors’ problems worsened as they conceded three goals in three minutes, starting with an own goal by Daniel Kaufmann in the 20th minute.
