Dean Smith believes that given enough time, he can turn around Aston Villa’s fortunes.
Villa lost for the sixth time in a row as Southampton won 1-0 at St Mary’s on Friday night thanks to an early goal from Adam Armstrong.
If Smith’s team loses this weekend, they might find themselves in the Premier League’s bottom three heading into the international break.
The 50-year-old will be under more scrutiny after a poor first half resulted in another defeat despite a comeback after the break.
“I have no idea,” Smith said when asked if he believes he will be given time to address the recent findings.
“I have never had any control of that so I never worry about it, I always concentrate on my job day to day and continue to do that. I am very confident if given time that we will turn it around with the squad we have got, and the payers we have got coming back (from injury).
