After the Euro 2020 final, a guy who livestreamed himself racially insulting three England football players on Facebook was sentenced to prison.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said Jonathon Best, 52, wrote a diatribe about Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka missing penalties in England’s shootout loss to Italy.
After England’s penalty shootout loss to Italy in the Euro 2020 final, Bradford Pretty went on a racist rant on social media.
At Willesden magistrates court on Tuesday, Best was sentenced to ten weeks in prison. He had previously pled guilty to delivering an extremely offensive, indecent, obscene, or menacing message or content via a public communication network.
Best, a forklift driver from Feltham in west London, was apprehended when a colleague and Facebook friend reported the 18-second tape to Facebook and the police after he refused to take it down, according to the CPS. Three days later, Facebook removed the video.
