A Premier League winner, a zealous disciplinarian, and a shrewd tactician, he is a serial winner. Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Antonio Conte as their new manager is understandable.
The former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager is set to succeed Nuno Espirito Santo, who was fired by Tottenham on Monday after only four tumultuous months in charge.
It would bring an end to an interesting summer in which the Italian turned down Spurs’ offer to be their manager, clearing the door for Nuno’s final hiring.
But, with an out-of-form squad, a lack of recent investment, and a star player eager to go in the summer, why would Conte want to join Tottenham now?
