Antonio Conte has been named the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur. Nuno Espirito Santo was fired as Tottenham’s head coach, as MailOnline exclusively revealed yesterday morning, with the club confirming the Portuguese’s departure shortly before 10 a.m.
And Fabio Paratici, Tottenham’s increasingly powerful director of football, moved fast to find Nuno’s replacement, with Conte signing a contract that runs through 2023 with an option to extend. As the focus quickly shifts to Thursday’s Europa Conference League match against Vitesse, he has already met the players.
Conte said: ‘I am extremely happy to return to coaching, and to do so at a Premier League club that has the ambition to be a protagonist again.
‘Tottenham Hotspur has state-of-the-art facilities and one of the best stadiums in the world. I can’t wait to start working to convey to the team and the fans the passion, mentality and determination that have always distinguished me, as a player and as a coach.
