Sergio Aguero was brought to the hospital for examinations after experiencing “chest discomfort” during Barcelona’s 0-0 draw with Alaves in their first encounter since Ronald Koeman was fired.

Aguero collapsed clutching the top of his chest and was treated for many minutes before being carried off the field shortly before halftime.
Barcelona later revealed that he was sent to the hospital for a “cardiac checkup.” After Memphis Depay’s first curling effort, Alaves earned a point thanks to Luis Rioja.

Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, 33, was rushed away in an ambulance, according to Barca interim manager Sergi Barjuan “I’m afraid I won’t be able to give you much more. I hear he’s been brought to the hospital and is undergoing tests.”

Since joining the club in the summer, the Argentine was making his first start for the team. After 10 years at City, Aguero signed a two-year contract with Barca, where he became the club’s all-time best goalscorer with 260 goals in 390 games. Barcelona is in ninth place in La Liga, eight points behind leaders Real Madrid, who beat Elche 2-1 earlier on Saturday.
