Barcelona Dream Of Hiring Jurgen Klopp As Their Manager But Have Little Optimism

According to sources, Barcelona would like to hire Jurgen Klopp as their manager, but they are not enthusiastic about their chances of luring the Liverpool manager to the Camp Nou.

The Catalans are currently in poor form under current manager Ronald Koeman, and are currently ranked ninth in LaLiga. Recent reports in Spain suggest that the Dutchman will be sacked when the time comes, rather than if.

Younger choices like Xavi Hernandez and Andrea Pirlo, as well as more experienced contenders like Roberto Martinez and Erik ten Hag, are among the managers Barcelona president Joan Laporta might bring in next.

However, according to Spanish news agency SPORT, Barcelona regard Klopp as the best candidate to lead the Catalan club, although even the LaLiga giants recognize that the odds are slim.

Klopp’s contract with Liverpool extends through 2024, and the German coach stated in August 2020 that he intended to honor it but not extend it.

After that, the 54-year-old manager intends to take a year off from coaching before choosing what he wants to do next, with retirement from the game being an option.
