Arsenal 2-0 Leeds: Gunners Move Into Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals As Calum Chambers Nets Within Seconds

One goal, one touch, and one massive celebration. Calum Chambers’ presentation on Tuesday night was one of the most memorable in recent memory for those who witnessed it.

Mikel Arteta gave Chambers the go-ahead to replace Ben White in the 55th minute, and he rushed into the Leeds box as Emile Smith Rowe prepared to swing in a corner.

It was more of a case of desperation than anything else. Since joining Arsenal in 2016, Chambers had scored four goals for the Gunners.

Arteta is finally getting a tune out of his team after a difficult start to the season, though Saturday’s trip to Leicester will be a significantly harsher test of their recent recovery.

They didn’t have it all their own way against Leeds, but Arteta doesn’t seem to mind. The first half didn’t offer many clear-cut opportunities. Perhaps the gradual burn was to be expected.

Arsenal made nine changes from the squad that beat Aston Villa on Friday night, while Leeds made four changes from the side that drew with Wolves at the weekend, including Cody Drameh, who made his entire debut.
