Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under consideration for dismissal.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United’s board of directors is seriously considering replacing Solskjaer before Saturday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur. United has yet to react to a request for comment on the manager’s status.
United players are believed to have been confined to Old Trafford for two hours following the 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool on Sunday.
United has lost five of their last nine games and has gone four games without a win in the Premier League. The 5-0 hammering by Liverpool on Sunday was United’s worst ever home loss to their main rivals.
United players are said to be having a day off ahead of their match against Spurs. United had a rare midweek off after being knocked out of the League Cup by West Ham last month.
United rewarded Solskjaer with a new three-year contract in July after he presided over ‘obvious development’ last season, but their record has dipped this season despite the anticipation of a title fight.
