Barcelona has denounced the “violent and disrespectful conduct” perpetrated against its manager, Ronald Koeman, when he departed Camp Nou following a 2-1 defeat by Real Madrid.
People surrounded Koeman’s car and blocked it from moving as the Dutchman attempted to leave the stadium after Barcelona suffered their fourth consecutive clásico defeat.
Some supporters appeared to kick or bang the automobile, and Koeman was verbally abused. As Koeman drove away, there looked to be spit on one of the windows.
“FC Barcelona publicly condemns the violent and disdainful acts that our manager experienced when leaving the Camp Nou,” the club said on Twitter. “The club will take security and disciplinary measures so that such unfortunate events do not happen again.”
