After Max Verstappen improved his points lead in the United States, Lewis Hamilton confessed Mercedes face a “difficult” job in catching up to Red Bull in the following two races.
Verstappen won a tense race at the Circuit of the Americas on Sunday, overcoming the sting of losing the lead to Hamilton at the start by executing a “aggressive” tyre strategy flawlessly.
Verstappen currently leads the standings by 12 points heading to Mexico City and Brazil’s Interlagos, where his team has previously competed with less-competitive machinery than they have presently.
“At least the next two tracks for sure, very strong circuits for Red Bull so it’s going to be tough, for sure,” suggested Hamilton.
