Cornet Double As Burnley Draw At Saints

After his two goals earned a point against Southampton at St Mary’s, Burnley manager Sean Dyche stated Maxwel Cornet was the “bit of difference we have been striving for.”

After the remarkable Tino Livramento and Armando Broja turned the game around for Saints, Cornet gave the visitors the lead before saving a draw.

“I think there were a lot of good things about our performances,” said Dyche. “I’ve been saying that a lot lately but we had two excellent goals by Maxwel.

After Cornet’s opener, Livramento headed Saints level before Broja capitalized on James Tarkowski’s error to score his second goal in as many games.

The Clarets’ third Premier League goal in as many starts proved unable to bring them out of the relegation zone, as they stay in 18th place. After Watford’s win at Everton, Saints slide to 16th place, four points below Burnley.
