As Manchester United prepares to face Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday, they are concerned about Bruno Fernandes’ fitness.
According to The Sun, Fernandes was ‘limping heavily’ after arriving for a warm-down session following United’s 3-2 Champions League comeback triumph over Atalanta on Wednesday night.
If the 27-year-old is ruled out of United’s match against Jurgen Klopp’s side on Sunday, it will be a massive blow to the club.
United trailed Atalanta 2-0 at halftime, but goals from Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, and Cristiano Ronaldo in the second half turned the game around.
But Solskjaer will know that his team must be significantly better against Liverpool, and Fernandes’ possible absence would be a huge blow.
Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 in midweek at the Wanda Metropolitano to move into second place in the Premier League, one point behind leaders Chelsea.
