Real Madrid are prepared to speed up their efforts to sign Paul Pogba as a free agent if he chooses to end his Manchester United contract.
Pogba’s contract with Manchester United ends at the end of the season, and he has yet to commit his future to the 20-time English champions, heightening the possibility that he would move for free in the summer.
If he does not agree to a contract extension, the Frenchman will be free to negotiate terms and sign a pre-contract with a new club beginning in January, in preparation for a summer move.
Real are willing to pay him just under £12 million a year plus a transfer incentive of just over £25 million to entice him to leave Old Trafford for the Santiago Bernabeu at the conclusion of the season, according to ABC.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, is pressing for the transaction to go through, with Real aiming to link Pogba and Kylian Mbappe alongside France teammate Karim Benzema.
AS claimed earlier this week that the Spanish giants had been in contact with Pogba’s team for several weeks, believing that signing the United midfielder would help Mbappe’s arrival.
