Tyson Fury won the third fight of his trilogy with Deontay Wilder on Saturday night in Las Vegas, retaining the WBC heavyweight title. In an all-time classic in which he twice rose off the canvas, he defeated the challenger by TKO in the 11th round.
“I’m the best fighter in the world and he’s the second best,” said Fury after the fight, which contained five knockdowns in total. “I was hurt, he’s a tough man … it was a great fight tonight, worthy of the best trilogies.”
After a split draw in their first bout and a knockout win for the Briton in their second, the outcome cements Fury’s dominance over his American opponent.
Wilder had accused Fury of using underhanded tactics in the second bout in the build-up to Saturday’s showdown. However, Fury’s second consecutive victory leaves no doubt as to who is the greater fighter.
