Newcastle United’s new owners have sent an open letter to supporters outlining their aspirations for the club’s future.
A consortium backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund sealed a £305 million deal to purchase control of Newcastle United on Thursday, with the new owners aiming to turn the club into a superpower like Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the club’s new chairman, has written a letter in which he discusses the club’s goals and promises to deliver a team that the fans can be proud of.
‘First and foremost, I want to emphasise that we are immensely happy to be the caretakers of an institution like Newcastle United,’ he says, according to the Newcastle Chronicle. This is the place where you belong.
