After sacking Xisco Munoz, Watford have appointed Claudio Ranieri as their new head coach on a two-year contract.
The Italian, who led Leicester City to the Premier League victory in 2016, stepped down as manager of Sampdoria at the end of the previous campaign.
Watford, who are 15th in the Premier League with seven points from seven games, fired head coach Munoz on Sunday morning after less than a year in charge.
🤝 Watford FC is delighted to confirm the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as the club’s new Head Coach.

Since the Pozzo family completed their ownership of Watford in 2012, the club has had 13 different permanent managers.
Ranieri, who will turn 70 later this month and has previously managed Chelsea and Fulham, is well-known among Watford’s owners, with speculation that he was a possibility for the position in the past.
