After sacking Xisco Munoz, Watford are in talks to appoint Claudio Ranieri as their new head coach.
Ranieri departed his position as Sampdoria manager at the end of the season after leading Leicester City to the Premier League title in 2016.
Watford fired head coach Xisco Munoz on Sunday morning after less than ten months in command, with the Hornets 14th in the Premier League after seven points from their first seven games.
Ranieri, who will turn 70 later this month and has previously managed Chelsea and Fulham, is well-known among Watford’s owners, and Sky Sports News has learned that he was once a candidate for the managerial position.
If Ranieri is appointed, a source told Sky Sports News that he will sign a two-year contract at Vicarage Road.
