Rodney Marsh, a football great, believes that alcohol should not be offered at football games because supporters are “nutcases.”

Marsh, 76, also referred to fans as “lunatics,” advising them to remain sat and as sober as possible during games.

In a terrifying remark, the QPR legend and former England forward claimed that allowing alcohol to flow freely during 90-minute games would be a “tragedy.”

Footballers from all competitions have expressed their satisfaction at the return of people to stadiums following Covid lockdowns, prompting his contentious remarks.

Tracey Crouch, a member of Parliament, is campaigning for a trial scheme that would allow alcohol to be consumed in football stadium seats throughout the duration of a professional match.
