Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool’s defensive performance against Brentford is “not a problem” heading into their Champions League group game against Porto.
The Reds’ 3-3 tie with Real Madrid on Saturday was the first time they have conceded three goals in a game since April’s European defeat.
“We didn’t defend at our highest level so we have to improve,” said Klopp.
“We don’t make these things bigger than they are but you have to show a reaction.”
After falling behind 2-1 against AC Milan in their Group B opener, Liverpool battled back to win 3-2 thanks to Mohamed Salah’s equalizer and Jordan Henderson’s 69th-minute winner.
Klopp’s team had only conceded one goal in five Premier League games prior to the Brentford tie, and they had had a strong start to the season, leading the table by one point.
