The defender is free to leave Chelsea next summer, and Bayern Munich, along with Real Madrid and PSG, are interested in signing him, according to Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan.

Salihamidzic has denied suggestions that the club is interested in signing Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

Rudiger, a Germany international, is out of contract at the end of the season and is thought to be attracting attention from a number of prominent European clubs.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann prompted more conjecture this week when he complimented the centre-“aggressiveness” back’s and described him as a “decisive” player during a news conference.

What has been said?
Salihamidzic insisted Bayern have enough options at centre-back when asked about the club’s interest.

He told DAZN: “It’s not okay when we talk about players who are with other clubs. Julian said that about him in the press conference, but he’s a coach who sees a lot of players – so why shouldn’t he rate an international and speak about his strengths?
