Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku after his outstanding performance against the Citizens, according to a report in Spain.
In the Champions League, the 23-year-old scored a hat-trick as Bayern Munich lost 6-3 to Pep Guardiola’s team. The Premier League side was too excellent for Die Roten Bullen, but the former France Under-21 star sparkled for them. And it appears that City officials haven’t forgotten about him, as Fichajes reports that he is now on their radar.
Nkunku began his professional career with Paris Saint-Germain, where he spent four years as a member of the junior team before being promoted to the senior club. Before coming to Germany, he made 78 first-team appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals.
In July 2019, the gifted schemer signed a five-year contract with Leipzig. During his first season, he appeared in 44 games across all competitions and scored five goals.
Last season, the three-time Ligue 1 champion scored seven goals in 40 games, and he’s off to a tremendous start in 2021-2022. He has six goals in eight appearances, attracting the attention of a number of big clubs.
