Wolves defeated Southampton with Raul Jimenez scoring his first goal since suffering a life-threatening fractured skull.

The Mexico attacker scored the game’s sole goal after collecting a long ball forward, evading two home defenders, and finishing comfortably past Alex McCarthy.

Adam Armstrong, Valentino Livramento, and Mohamed Elyounoussi all had chances to open the score for Southampton, but Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa denied them.

The Saints had a chance to equalize after Jimenez’s goal, which was his first for Wolves since October 2020, but Che Adams’ attempt was saved, and Wolves held on for the win despite late home pressure.

Southampton remains winless in the Premier League this season, dropping to 16th, while Wolves rise to 13th.
