Man Utd Star Dean Henderson Pushing For January loan

DEAN HENDERSON is looking for a loan move in January after his goal of becoming Manchester United’s first choice fell through.

Phil Jones, on the other hand, is expected to make his first appearance in 20 months in United’s Carabao Cup clash against West Ham United on Wednesday.

This season, Henderson was expected to take over as the starting goalkeeper from David De Gea. So far this season, the 24-year-old has been plagued by extended Covid and has been unable to even make the bench.

De Gea has been in superb form over that period, not least on Sunday when his injury-time penalty save gave United all three points against West Ham. Henderson has been a United player since he was 14 years old, and he has had two successful loan periods at Sheffield United.

He returned last summer in the hopes of dethroning De Gea as the number one goalkeeper. His 13 appearances, on the other hand, were ineffective. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was still planning to start him this season until Long Covid prevented him from training.
