‘Sorry Spurs, But It’s Now The Big Four Not The Big Six’, Danny Murphy

Tottenham could shock Chelsea in a one-off London derby, but referring to them as part of the Premier League’s Big Six no longer makes sense.

We’ve arrived at a point where a Big Four is a serious possibility. For the past two years, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea have been our Champions League qualifiers, and I’ll be shocked if that doesn’t happen again.

And, given the strength and depth of those clubs presently at the top and their ability to spend when necessary, I don’t see the position altering for a few years.

Tottenham and Arsenal, on the other hand, will have similar goals as Leicester, West Ham, and possibly even Everton this season: a run for the Europa League and a chance to reach a domestic cup final.
