Sadio Mane scored his 100th goal for Liverpool in a win over Crystal Palace, keeping Liverpool unblemished in the Premier League this season. In the first half, Jurgen Klopp’s side produced multiple chances against a tenacious Palace defense before Mane pounced on a rebound at the back post.
With just over 10 minutes remaining, Mohamed Salah doubled their advantage with a flick-on from a corner, before Naby Keita’s late curling drive made it 3-0.
In the first half, Liverpool squandered a golden opportunity when Diogo Jota shot over the bar from a few yards away, while Thiago and Jordan Henderson were both stopped by Vicente Guaita.
Palace had started strongly, hitting the post twice in as many minutes as Liverpool’s lines in the box were not cleared, but the hosts’ perseverance eventually paid off.
After a dramatic 3-2 triumph against AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday, Liverpool rounded off a superb week at Anfield with a straightforward victory. As a result, they are now top of the table after four wins in their first five games, while Palace are still outside the top ten.
