Rangers Refuse To Allow Celtic Legends Neil Lennon And Chris Sutton Into Ibrox For BT Sport Punditry Roles

Rangers denied Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon admission to Ibrox on Thursday, citing security concerns as the basis for the former Celtic duo’s refusal to act as pundits.

The decision was apparently communicated to BT Sport yesterday afternoon, only hours before Rangers faced Lyon in the Europa League at 8 p.m. At 5.45 p.m., Celtic took on Real Betis.

Sutton and Lennon were meant to offer coverage from Ibrox, however they were unable to do so because BT arranged for Celtic to be covered from their London studios instead.

‘We had hoped that Darrell Currie and the team would be able to present the coverage of both the Celtic and Rangers UEFA Europa League games live from Ibrox,’ a BT statement said, ‘as we have done in the past. Rangers have since raised security concerns and so we have to change our plans.’
