Donny van de Beek’s Manchester United career is almost finished, according to Paul Ince, who believes the midfielder will be sold in January.
Van de Beek was a high-profile signing from Ajax last summer for about £35 million, having built a strong reputation as a key player in the Dutch club’s incredible run to the 2019 Champions League semi-final.
Despite this, the midfielder has hardly been given a chance with the first team since coming at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old was granted a rare Champions League start against Young Boys on Tuesday, but he was substituted at halftime for defender Raphael Varane after the Red Devils were reduced to ten men following Aaron Wan-first-half Bissaka’s red card.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the manager, defended the switch by claiming it was tactical. He claimed: ‘The signs were there in the last five minutes of the first-half that we were going to get crosses in the box.
