Makeshift Celtic lost a Europa League thriller against Real Betis after letting a two-goal lead slip away.
The visitors, who were back in Seville 18 years after losing in the Uefa Cup final, took the lead thanks to an Albian Ajeti goal and a penalty from Josip Juranovic, with Jota missing a golden chance for a third.
It was crucial, as Juanmi’s double helped Betis break the stalemate in 21 minutes with a four-goal blitz.
Despite Anthony Ralston’s late header, Celtic were unable to find a way back into the game.
Betis’ additional goals came from Juan Miranda and Bruno Iglesias, as Celtic fell to third place in Group G after Bayer Leverkusen came back to beat Ferencvaros 2-1 in Germany.
