Messi Kept Quiet On Full Debut As PSG Draw At Bruges

In his debut start for Paris St-Germain, Lionel Messi struggled to make an impact as the French side were held by Club Bruges in the Champions League.

Despite all the buzz surrounding PSG’s new signing, it was Ander Herrera who scored the first goal after outstanding work from Kylian Mbappe.

Before the break, Hans Vanaken scored a well-deserved equalizer to set the Jan Breydel Stadium roaring. After a trying evening, Messi was subsequently yellow-carded in the second half for a foul.

Throughout the game, PSG struggled to deal with the home team’s intense pressing and relied on goalkeeper Keylor Navas to tip Charles de Ketelaere’s well-struck effort over the crossbar to keep the score level.

PSG struggled to break down the lively hosts, who may believe they might have won the game themselves, and Mbappe was replaced after 51 minutes.
