Gary Neville Insists Cristiano Ronaldo Is ‘The Greatest Footballer Ever’ In Fiery Debate With Jamie Carragher…

On Monday, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville debated Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi, and naturally, they differed in a heated conversation.

Ronaldo made a triumphant comeback to Manchester United on Saturday, scoring twice in front of a raucous Old Trafford crowd and thrusting himself back into the spotlight after failing to deliver on his Champions League promise at Juventus.

With both guys making fresh starts this summer after Messi’s move to PSG, the Portuguese legend’s return has poured gasoline on the burning bonfire of this perennial discussion.

Neville, a former teammate of Ronaldo’s, believes the 36-year-old is unrivaled in the history of the game.

‘I’ve always ignored the Ronaldo and Messi question, it’s a bit of a fantasy and both need to be enjoyed,’ the former United right-back told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

‘I was asked this morning by a gentleman who was driving me in: If you could pick any player in history to come off the bench and win you a game, who would it be?

‘It would absolutely be Cristiano Ronaldo. I do think he’s the greatest football player that has ever lived. That is not a bias.
